About the Passion flower:

Passion flower or Passiflora incarnata, a climbing vine with lovely purple-white blossoms that has been a traditional indigenous herbal remedy since ancient times.

The Native Americans used the Passionflower plant as a sedative; when the conquistadors learned of it, they carried it to Europe, where it was widely cultivated and incorporated into folk medicine.

Effects:

Today, passionflower is mostly used to reduce anxiety, particularly before having surgery. It is also recommended as a dietary supplement for heart rhythm issues, menopausal symptoms, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Some people also take it to manage sleeplessness, stress, pain, and other disorders. Burns and hemorrhoids are two more skin conditions that may be treated with the salve of this plant.

Although there is not a lot of scientific data to back up these uses, there are numerous anecdotal reports on its effectiveness.

Use of the Passion flower:

In its dry form, passionflower can be brewed into a tea, smoked on its own, or in smoking blends; most notably, due to its MAOI alkaloid content, it’s a common ingredient in changa blends with DMT.
