Each pack contains 50 g of coarsely shredded leaves. The pieces come in a resealable zip bag inside a brown paper outer pouch.
About the Strain
This version has a coarser texture than the powdered Maeng Da varieties in our range. The dried Mitragyna speciosa leaves are broken into recognisable pieces, leaving more of the leaf’s structure visible.
Botanical Background
Thailand forms part of the natural range of Mitragyna speciosa, which extends across parts of Southeast Asia to New Guinea. Thai names for the plant include bai krathom and, in the southern peninsula, thom.
The species can grow into a substantial tree, reaching 10–30 m (approximately 33–98 ft) in height. It develops greyish bark and elongated leaves with rounded bases and pointed tips. These broad leaves are the plant material used for dried leaf products.
